Marketplace Dispatch Label Standards

  • Flipkart (Ekart Logistics): Flipkart requires thermal labels measuring 4x6 inches (100 x 150 mm) containing the FMPC... or OD... routing barcode. The barcode must be printed using high-density Code 128 symbology with a minimum bar height of 25 mm.
  • Meesho: Meesho partners with multiple third-party logistics (3PL) providers including Delhivery, Shadowfax, XpressBees, and Ecom Express. The tracking AWB number must be clearly printed along with customer delivery address, pin code, and order details.
  • Amazon India (Easy Ship & FBA): Orders fulfilled via Easy Ship require the courier airway bill with tracking barcode, while units dispatched to Amazon India Fulfillment Centers (FBA) require individual FNSKU stickers covering any previous barcodes.

Best Practices for Indian Thermal Printing

  1. Use Quality Thermal Paper: Cheap thermal rolls darken rapidly in humid warehouse environments or when exposed to heat inside delivery delivery vans. Use top-coated direct thermal labels.
  2. Never Tape Over the Barcode: Clear BOPP packaging tape contains chemical plasticizers that react with direct thermal paper, causing the black barcode bars to fade to invisible within 24 to 48 hours. Place the label in a clear document pouch or stick it firmly to the outer box without taping over the bars.
  3. Display Mandatory Legal Metrology Info: Ensure the Maximum Retail Price (MRP in ₹), manufacturer details, and net quantity are clearly legible on the label.
